Neil and Ruby Solomon established Ndubaluba in 1992, (Neil was the first Headmaster of Chengelo School 1988-1992). The name of Ndubaluba comes from the local Lala name for the Lady Ross’s Turaco, which are found in numbers at the site.

In 1995, Chengelo School took over the running of Ndubaluba through the leadership of Richard Thompson (a Geography teacher at Chengelo School). It continued to develop as a Christian Adventure Education Centre, providing Outdoor Education for Chengelo and relatively quickly schools in Zambia and overseas. Currently over 2,500 young people participate in courses at Ndubaluba every year, from Chengelo School, schools across Zambia and overseas. Ndubaluba also runs courses for church groups, organisations, corporates and NGO’s.

Ndubaluba provides Christian Adventure Education for Chengelo School and other Schools and organisations within Zambia and overseas. A key part of the Centre’s work is to provide financially subsidized courses to less privileged and disadvantaged in Zambia. We currently subsidize courses for orphanages, physically disabled children, and local government schools, charities working with rural communities, conservation organisations and local church youth groups.
